FOREST FLOOR

Initially, Our rainforests are divided into four layers that are the forest floor, understory layer, Canopy Layer and Emergent Layer. The Forest floor is very dark and almost no plants grow in this area as a result since hardly any sun reaches the forest floor things begin to decay quickly.​ The forest floor is where decomposition takes place. Decomposition is the process by which fungi and microorganisms break down dead plants and animals and recycle essential materials and nutrients.
